Football isn't like basketball. You can't just sign a bunch of free agents plug them into the team and make the super bowl. If it was that easy the Redskins would always make it far but they don't really make it anywhere. All they do is sell a bunch of jersies, which I guess is pretty good for ownership but not so much for the actual team.

Just as soon as a team signs a bunch of marquee free agents they are gone. Some of them have attitude problems, some of them get injured and some of them were a product of good coaching and their environment. When they leave that environment they just don't do very well. See Peerles Price. Remember when he was next to Eric Moulds? He had some great years but when he left, not so much. He never regained his form after that.

So what about the Eagles? People are so quick to point out that the Eagles are trying to buy a championship and all that. The truth is the Eagles have been preparing for a moment like this for a very long time! How is that? Through excellent management and coaching they were able to snatch up the best free agents that fit their team. They aren't trying to plug random people in there or force anyone like the redskins do every year.

You see, what the Redskins do is buy these free agents that don't necessarily fit into their team and try to coach them into it. The eagles have a philosophy and they stick by it.

Also, keep in mind that people want to play for the Eagles. They want to play for Michael Vick. In the case of the Redskins or other teams that try to throw money around people are enticed there by money. Money doesn't always motivate people especially if a ton of it is thrown at a player. Most players begin to lose focus.

In a shortened off season the teams that will be most prepared are the ones that have the most stable QB situation. This is true but it also benefits the teams that have the best athletes and the players that can improvise the most.

Thats where Michael Vick comes in. No player can improvise as well as Michael Vick. No coach can adjust on the fly as well as Andy Reid. In this unique situation the Eagles have a huge advantage to make it deep.

Everyone in that particular division has gotten worse except for the Eagles. The Eagles are the only team that have gotten better.

Cowboys? What is it that they added that makes them improve on a 6-10 record? You could say that they already have all the talent necessary and they didn't need to add anyone but I disagree. There offense scares no one and yeah you could say that Demarcus Ware makes the defense better but who else do they have on that side of the ball?

The Giants? They lost their best receiver. They lost a few key O-Linemen. Sure they could've made the playoffs had they not turned the ball over so much but that isn't reason enough for them to make it. The defense is still intact but they just lost 2 cornerbacks. In a pass happy league that is basically suicide

What about the redskins? I believe in Mike Shanahan as a coach. I think he has a few tricks up his sleeve that no one can quite put their fingers on just yet. I think they got better. I think he will get a lot out of Rex Grossman and John beck. I think they finish 2nd in the division behind the Eagles and return to the playoffs.

The Eagles will start what some may consider slow at 5-3 or 5-4. People will begin to write them off and then they will suddenly rip off a string of wins and go 10-6 11-5 and get homefield throughout the playoffs. In this day and age of parity homefield advantage is somewhat overated but I think it will help in a unique year such as this one.

Why I wouldn't sign Chris Johnson to a long term deal

Am I crazy? No, I am not and I will tell you why!

Does Chris Johnson sell jerseys and bring money to the Titans Organization? Yes of course he does!

But this is an organization that is re-building. There defense isn't as good as it used to be. They don't have a real threat at QB just yet so what do defenses have to do? Stack the box! It makes their team very very predictable to sign Chris Johnson to a long term deal.

The offense will be going through many growing pains. Their new gunslinger has to make defenses pay for stacking the box and your guess is as good as mine as too how long this will take them to do.

Also, the value of a running back is going down. They're very injury prone and with the new rules against the defense there are now more passing lanes than ever. Because of this the value of the QB has gone up even more and teams don't need that grind them down running back any longer. They need a home run hitter that can catch the ball out of the backfield. Chris Johnson is exactly that but teams can't survive just fine with a running back by commitee approach.

Sinking all that money into one position when the league is evolving into a pass happy league is somewhat suicidal. He wants to be paid like the top playmakers? I wouldn't give this man Larry Fitzgerald money. its way too easy to scheme against him.

With Larry he can make an average QB look great and a great QB into a hall of famer. Runningbacks disapear for games. Even one of the best, Adrian Peterson, can disapear for plenty of games. Remember when he broke the single game rushing record? That year he also had games of 50 yds or fewer.

With a WR as amazing as Larry Fitzgerald yeah he may disapear but what he does to opposing defenses makes his teamates look better. Even if you double team Larry someone else will be open to make the catch.

If you stack the box and make Jake locker throw the ball Chris will disapear and Jake may or may not have a good game. The offense becomes so predictable. Even if you scheme against Larry it will not only open up other recievers or tight ends but also will create running lanes for a teams runner which can also make and average RB look great! When the defense is on its heels and playing further back from the line then it puts them at a disadvatage.

The Titans don't really have a big play receiver. Yeah, you could say that gang banger with speed they have up there is big play but you can't make plays when you're suspended. Also, guys like that have poor mental focus so they will show up one year and disapear others.

So with all that being said I would trade CJ and not give in to his contract demands. They have a young hot shot QB to build around now and thats what you need in this day and age to make it in the NFL. Not a running back..................

Randy Moss is the greatest receiver of all time

I am not a Vikings or Patriots fan. I'm not really a fan of any one team. Why? It creates a biased mindset I want to avoid at all costs.

So, when I look at players or teams I speak the truth. Most "Fans" are blinded by their own emotions when making statements about teams.

But this isn't a psychology class and most of you won't know what the hell I'm talking about if we went down that path.

But I am going to tell you why Randy Moss, if he retired today, is the best WR of all time!

We could argue stats all day. Yeah, he doesn't have Jerry Rice numbers yet but he's only 34 and Rice played into his early 40's. Moss has almost 15000 receiving yards and 153 touchdowns with a 15 yards per catch average.

What did Jerry Rice have at the end of his career? Close to 23000 yards and 208 touchdowns and he played til he was 43!

Moss has 9 long years to catch this man! You don't think Moss can get 8000 receiving yards in 9 years? What about 60 more touchdowns?

Easy. Moss is a freak athlete. He's in the same mold as a guy like Daryl Green was where he could still rip off 4.5's in his late 40's

But forget those stats! You know what will prove my point completely and you can never ever argue with me and win about?

Randy Moss was part of 2 of the best offenses of all time. Originally the 98' Vikings and than the 2008 Patriots!

Oh but the 2008 Pats have Tom Brady? Tom Brady wasn't doing anything like that before Moss arrived. Moss made Randall Cunnigham and Daunte Culpepper look like genius's.

Look at Dante without Moss? He's nothing. Forget his injury we live in a time where if you blow your knee out you can come back. Carson Palmer came back and threw 4,000 yards after blowing out his knee. Drew Brees ruined his shoulder and came back and won the super bowl.

If you look in the record books I would bet a couple of those later Vikings teams are in the top 20 of all time.

He is everything a receiver needs to be. A backbreaker, momentum shifting machine that can make a QB look like a genius. Without Moss Brady wouldn't have the stats he has today. Without him he wouldn't have the confidence either.

Now you can argue the last 2 lines but the main stat, part of the 2 best offenses of all time, you can't!

And I don't want to hear that he's a punk or a bad human being. That has no merit on how the man plays football.

nnamdi asomugha isn't that great

He's got everything you look for in a CB. Tall, lanky, fast, explosion, closing speed, etc.

Yeah, they don't throw his way so basic gorilla math he takes away 1/2 or a 3rd of the field, right?

Not so fast buddy. What if teams didn't really have to throw against you then what would you say to all of his statistics?

That is what I remember the most about the most recent Raiders teams. They had terrible run defense and when they did throw there were plenty of holes to find on the otherside of the field so why throw towards nnamdi? Yeah, you can argue when they did throw his way that he picked off like 8 passses right?

Well thats fine and all but once again no need to test him anymore because there are other holes to be found.

A great defensive player creates turnovers. Where are his turnovers? He isn't a ballhawk like Charles Woodson or even Antoine Winfield. Antoine Winfield finds the ball, nnamdi does not.

Now here is the most damning argument I have. the raiders, suckers for speed and athletes, are ready to let this guy walk. I mean this guy has all the athletic talent there is. They have plenty of patience for these athletes with no skill set. nnamdi has athletic ability and skill and they are going to let a guy like that walk?

If the Raiders are ready to let you walk thats got to tell teams something. The next team he goes to he isn't going to have the luxury of chilling out on one side of the field. The next D-Coordinator is going to want to move him around and have him mirror the number 1 receiver. He didn't always have to do this in Oakland. They didn't use him like they used C-Wood. C-Wood is everything you want in a great defender. He makes momentum shifting plays.

Nnamdi hardly ever did that. There are at least 5 corners I would take over him: C. Wood, Asante, Darelle Revis, Antoine Winfield and yes even Antonio Cromartie. Cromartie gives up big plays but he also makes big ones

Don't you get sick of watching the news

Don't people get sick of watching the news? I mean its the same thing over and over again. Nothing ever changes. It just talks about how things are getting much worse in the world.

But they are right? I don't really think they are. People always want to stay stuck in the past. They talk about how things were much simpler "back then"

But how simple were they? When the flu could kill you or before anti-biotics. What if you faught the civil war and had to drink whiskey to get your leg cut off because of a slug?

Things weren't better "back then". They are getting better right now. Information travels so fast now. Things that took a lifetime to learn are only taking 4-5 years. You can learn multiple skills over a lifetime that you couldn't have even 15 years ago. Thats the greatest thing ever! Literally your skills will never be rendered obsolete because you can just keep learning new ones.

But you need to stay informed, right? Whats so informing about some kid who farted on a bus. How many times do you want to here about kids getting molested at church or abortion or how the dollars losing its value. If you're really interested in all this stuff and it bothers you go out and do something about it. Get active and prevent it from happening. Don't just watch the news for an hour every night and than act as if the world is getting worse.

Think about how hard life had to of been living in the 50's as a woman? Or an African American? That must've sucked big time. Having no rights just 50 years ago. They never even had a chance. Now look at all the opportunities people have?

There will always be hard times but they don't last, just like the good times. The one consistent thing in life is change, for good or for bad.

Tiki Barber just doesn't get it

The title says it all. Who is this guy? Yeah he was good but he isn't one of the greats. He retires from football after Tom Coughlin gets the best out of him and then complains about him.

Then he hits a mid life crisis in his 30's and leaves his pregnant wife for a hot young blond and doesn't think its a big deal.

After that he decides at 36 years old he will return to football. For what? What running back has ever left and returned football at 36? If a great player did something like that we'd all be like alright lets give him a shot. If Barry Sanders did it? Well we'd all welcome him back.

But Tiki Barber is not Barry Sanders and shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as him.

I think whats happening is his gf is probably chirping in his ear, building up his confidence to give football another shot. She wants a small glimmer of limelight as well and this is her way of getting it. I'm sure its not the entire thing but it has a little something to do with it.

What is the point of coming back? Its not like people are begging him to come back like Brett Favre to give a team a better chance at winning a super bowl. What team in contention will even give this clown a chance? He left and his team won the super bowl.

He is also one of the worse analysts I have ever seen. I thought Shannon Sharpe was bad with his meat head ramble but Tiki comes off as a smug fuck bag. He acts like he knows everything but he doesn't know shit. Steve Young and Collinsworth act like that sometimes but they know their shit. This retard of a twin brother doesn't.

If I was Ronde I would form tackle the shit out of Tiki over and over again until his head slammed into the ground so many times he became a vegetable. Ronde's going to the hall. Tikis just another runningback. I wonder if they will even put him on their ring of fame.

The $500 downpayment myth

I've been getting a lot of customers coming around asking to put $500 down towards the purchase of a car.

Theres only one problem. You can't really do that anymore. Whenever I say you need more money down most customers reply "Well a few years ago when I bought a car......"

Well a lot has changed in lending the past few years and continues to do so every single day. Its much harder to get financed as it is and $500 just doesn't do what it used to just a few years ago.

While there are places that will accept $500 down towards a car I feel like 98% will not and heres why.

When you purchase anything theres something called sales tax. This isn't something you can get around. The state wants its money and you have to pay them.

This is where the problem starts. Your taxes most of the time will be at least $500. So if thats the case you essentially put nothing towards the balance of the car. Why is this an issue? Well, the interest will begin eating you up immediately and your monthly payments will be higher. By only putting $500 down towards the car you're costing yourself money in the long run.

Also, because $500 doesn't have the same effect that its had in the past people aren't that commited to paying off a car if they only put that amount down. Because of this a good majority of the people who only put $500 end up letting the car go and falling behind on their payments.

Think about it. Wouldn't you feel more comitted to paying something off if you invested $2000 in it rather than $500? $2000 is still a decent sum of money and losing out on that investment is not an easy pill to swallow.

In my experience the people who only put $500 down on a car aren't thinking in a long term mind set. Their mind set is this is a temporary solution and in the back of their minds feel like they will give the car away.

The more money you put down up front the more money you will save in the long run.

What buy here pay here is and isn't

Buy here pay here is an excellent way for people to get financed if they are in a tough spot. It can be a long term or short term solution if you're in the process of fixing your credit. Most buy here pay here places will work with you hand in hand to re-build your credit.

They will report to the credit bureau and once you complete the loan then it will go onto your credit bureau and will increase your credit score.

What a buy here pay here place isn't is a way to get into a really nice car for little to no money down. I get customers walking in here all the time asking to get into a Porsche, Caddy or BMW with $500 and bad credit. Just because we are a buy here pay here doesn't mean we will bend the rules for you.

We can finance any and all types of credit but the relationship works both ways. Basically, help us help you. There are things that you need to do and things we need to do to make the relationship work.

The best way to do this is to ask as many questions. if you are unsure about something, ask. If the salesman or manager gives you a bad answer, ask again and again until you understand it. Some places will try and deter you from asking questions. If they aren't willing to answer and you're to the point where you can buy the car or not then walk away. They won't let you go.

There is a way for you to get into a luxury vehicle without any credit or even bad credit. How do you do this? Cash! The more money you have down the more willing these places are going to work with you.

But if you have around $1500 down you can still get a great running car for around $250-$300 a month.

In a sense BHPH places are picky but in a different way. They don't want to have to repo you but will if the communication between everyone stops. Make sure you stay in steady contact with a BHPH dealership, especially if you've fallen on hard times. You aren't the first person to fall behind on a payment and you won't be the last. Many places are willing to work with you if you're nice and respectful and open with them.

If you disapear they have no choice but to try to find you and their car. Cars go missing in BHPH all the time. At our own personal lot we had $100,000 in missing inventory at one point. Thats a lot of money for a small place to have disapear on them. A bank or large business can handle these swings but a small mom and pop BHPH place cannot.

Buy Here Pay Here isn't an easy business to be in. There is a lot of stress and pressure from both ends.

Dealing with customers is tough because they need a car to keep their lives going. They got themselves in a tough spot and need a way to get out. We can help but it doesn't make it easy.

There are a lot of shady people out there who continue to make the same or similar mistakes over and over again. These are the customers you try your best to avoid but can't.

Most of our customers are good hard working people stuck in a rough situation.

On our end its convincing our boss to finance you. Its his job to make sure we don't secure bad accounts. If we do then with that comes a lot of different problems. We don't sell cars just so we can repo them but often time when a customer goes missing for months on end we have no choice but to do this.

Repoing a car puts a lot of pressure on the business. We have to spend time and resources to find a car we sold. Then we have to go through the court system to try and recover any type of damage done to the vehicle. It is not fun and one of the worst parts of BHPH financing.

Also, if the car comes back that reflects on the person who sold them the car. When you walk into a buy here pay here lot make sure you ask as many questions as possible so you fully understand the fine print. This way you are fully prepared throughout the remainder of the loan.

Buy Here Pay Her Misconception #1

Just because a car lot does BHPH it doesn't mean they can go back to old lending practices.

By old lending practices I mean putting people in a car with little to no money and an average credit score. The times have changed. a 650 score is looked at as average now because too many lenders have been burned by people who didn't and still won't pay to this day.

And why would you want to go back to old lending practices anyways? Thats the thing that got us all into this mess. Doing the same thing over and over again isn't going to get you out of debt.

$500 down won't cut it either. $500 doesn't even cover your taxes the majority of the time when you purchase a vehicle.

You also have to understand that when a BHPH dealer asks for more money down it accomplishes 2 things. The 2 things benefits both the dealership and the customer. By putting more money down you are saving lots of money throughout your loan. The other thing is it minimizes risk for the BHPH dealership. Its a giant risk to finance someone with bad credit.

Getting more money down will also give you more leverage in getting a better price on the car. If you come in with $1000 down and ask for a lower interest rate or some money off the sales price they probably won't do it. Remember a chunk of your cash is going towards taxes as it is.

But if you come in and say I have $3000-$4000 down can you take an extra $1000 off the sales price or lower the interest rate a few points they will be much more willing to do so.

I can't stress enough that you should educate yourself before stepping onto a car lot.

Backwards car thinking

A lot of people think that just because its buy here pay here that you can drive away with a super nice car with little to no money down.

Those were the golden days of car buying. You didn't need much credit or money to get a lot of car.

Unfortunately those days are gone. Customers with huge financial problems think that is what buy here pay here is. Its crazy that they want to do the same exact thing that got them into this mess all over again.

What people fail to understand when buying a car is the maintenance costs. They are pretty good at understanding insurance costs but neglect what gas and keeping the car running will cost.

If you take good care of your car you have nothing to worry about. Most people don't take good care of their cars though. They buy it and expect it to run forever ignoring all recomended maintenance practices.

But working on a buy here pay here lot I see how much history continues to repeat itself over and over again. I pull credit and see repos, foreclosures and bankruptcies. Despite all of that they still want that fresh new whip for no money down. Why is that?

I guess I would chalk it up to social pressures. They were living a lifestyle before that they would like to continue to do so. I guess its embaressing to them to lose all of that and have to start all over again. The car has always been so symbolic in showing that you finally "Made it". When did this happen? I don't know.

Here are a few things to expect before walking onto a buy here pay here lot:

1. Things work a little backwards around here. You aren't necesarliy coming to buy a car. You're coming to get qualified for a car loan.

2. You aren't always going to like what we want to put you in. You have to understand though if you have a 1-2 repos on your credit how are you going to expect us to believe that you will pay for our car? We weren't there for what happened. We'd like to help you now but you have to be willing to work with us.

3. Buy here pay here doesn't mean you can get a lot of car for little money. I always get people coming in saying I have $500 down can I get into that 2006 STS. When I say no they say but "isn't this buy here pay here" as if just because we can finance you in house we can bend the rules. It just doesn't make any sense.
